Biden Invites Drag Queens to White House in Celebration of "Respect for Marriage Act"

The White House is putting on an extravaganza to celebrate the Respect for Marriage Act. One of the guests for their star-studded event will be drag queen Marti G. Cummings. Cummings posted an invitation on social media. “To be a non-binary drag artist invited to the White House is something I never imagined would happen. Thank you, President & Dr. Biden, for inviting me to this historic bill signing. Grateful doesn’t begin to express the emotions I feel.”

Cummings has participated in Drag Time Story Hours. On Instagram, Cummings wrote, “Despite what conservatives say, this family-friendly event is a way to spread joy, teach acceptance & love.” After Twitter user Libs of Tiktok drew attention to Cumming’s announcement, he set his account to private. Cummings has also deleted past tweets like, “The kids are out to sing and suck d!”

In 2021, Cummings made a run for the New York City Council but was unsuccessful in the primary.

Cummings also posted that Jesse Havea, also known as the drag queen Brita Filter, would also be attending the signing. Brita Filter was in the news recently after The New York Post reported, “Students at a ritzy Manhattan private school were reportedly forced to attend a drag show at church as part of its LGBTQ+ pride celebrations earlier this year.” Brita performed “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and then answered questions about performing drag, queerness, and pride.

Christian conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey reacted to the news by laughing and mocking “all the principled conservatives & Christians who believed this bill is nothing more than a simple declaration of respect for gay marriage. How does it feel to be duped literally constantly?”

Rob Smith, an openly gay black man, who says it was more controversial for him to “come out” as a conservative, also criticized the invite. “The Biden Admin sees these far-Left LGBT Activists as one of their new ‘core constituencies.’ These are the people they need to groom America into accepting ‘trans 5-years-olds’ and ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ in the name of ‘Equality.’ There is no bottom.”

There has been debate in the Republican sphere about how passionately conservatives should defend traditional marriage and its electoral merits. But the Respect for Marriage Act has also been criticized as a performative bill that doesn’t add extra protection for gay marriage; it’s merely performative. Some conservative politicians like Senator Mike Lee are concerned about possible religious discrimination, while some LGBT activists are concerned that it allows religious discrimination. Some conservative commentators believe the bill is an overreach and may, eventually, lead to the overturning of Obergefell v Hodges, which made gay marriage legal across the country.

Whether President Biden’s signing of the Respect for Marriage Act ultimately leads to the downfall of gay marriage or the persecution of religious Americans, one thing is currently clear today: this is the administration of ideologically grooming children, whether it be through depravity or gender affirmation.
