Conservative's Book Reaches #1 After Amazon Reveals Major Bias
/On Tuesday, Libs of Tiktok posted a video of Amazon leadership holding a session, which addressed the “traumatic experience” of having Johnny the Walrus recommended to shoppers. Johnny the Walrus is a best-selling children’s book by conservative commentator Matt Walsh, who writes and has a show with The Daily Wire. The book is about a boy who says he’s a walrus, and his mother takes drastic measures to make him live this reality. It was referred to as “problematic.”
After hearing their reaction, Walsh said, “This is the greatest moment of my career.”
They played a customer’s rants, claiming it teaches kids to bully LGBTQIA into committing suicide. The customer also misquoted Matt Walsh, claiming he bragged about being the best-selling “anti-LGBT” author. This is false, yet this customer was selected because Amazon said they “did a great job,” explaining why it was “one hell of a problem.”
Matt Walsh did brag about having the number one LGBT book in the country. In the meeting, it’s mentioned how Johnny the Walrus was recategorized into the political section. They went on to complain about Walsh’s new book, What is a Woman?: One Man’s Journey to Answer the Question of a Generation. They asked, “Does a man even belong in this conversation? No. He doesn’t.”
Katrina Trinko from The Daily Signal pointed out that Antiracist Baby is listed as a children’s book. Amazon also rejected ads for What is a Woman? because it’s “not appropriate for all audiences,” yet Walsh pointed out, You-ology, a “book that promotes puberty blockers and tells kids that some girls can get erections,” is still running ads.
After the Amazon meeting went viral, Johnny the Walrus shot up to number one in the entire Amazon book catalogue. Walsh’s newest release on womanhood, hit number one in biology.
This isn’t the first time Amazon has played politics in favor of the trans agenda. When Harry Became Sally was banned from Amazon because they claimed it listed LGBTQ+ identity as a mental illness. The author, Ryan T. Anderson denied the allegation. Irreversible Damage is still listed on Amazon, but they have censored Abigail Shrier’s best-seller by rejecting ads.
